Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz Shuns Spotlight

Monday, July 30th, 2007
Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz has vowed to keep quiet over his private life after his naked photo humiliation last year. Wentz was experimenting with prescription medication when revealing pictures were published online - and the experience has taught him to safeguard his privacy.

He says, “I’ve been so candid in the past, and it’s burned me. I used to speak without a filter, but I ended up in hot water. I can barely remember those years. I was taking prescription medication; I was a drugstore cowboy, mixing this with this, seeing what the combinations did. I couldn’t picture myself in two years. People would ask, ‘What are you going to do on the next record?’ And I’d say, ‘Dude, I can’t even see myself being alive.’”

‘Simpsons’ targets Fall Out Boy

Monday, July 30th, 2007
Fall Out Boy are being lined up for a guest appearance in The Simpsons, according to reports.

The show’s creator Matt Groening told XFM: “Any band that names itself after a character of the Simpsons will eventually get on it. So, Fall Out Boy, stay tuned.”

The emo rockers claim to have come up with the name after asking audience members at one of their live gigs to shout out suggestions.

Fall Out Boy is the sidekick of Radioactive Man, a popular comic character loved by Bart Simpson in the series.

Groening was speaking at the premiere for The Simpsons Movie, which includes an appearance by another rock band - Green Day. The television show has also featured in the past acts such as The Who, Kid Rock, Tom Jones and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

AKON

Akon, having already covered Fall Out Boy’s “The Take Over, The Break’s Over,” says he would now like to collaborate with Pete Wentz’s band. Given both artists’ fondness for royal rumbling with audience members, it sounds like a match made in WWE heaven.
